An introductory presentation of A Guide-Tour of Sardinian Archaic, Weird and Marvelous stone sculpture (and architecture) - La costante resistenziale.
This ongoing research investigates different forms of sculpture from the island of Sardinia, tracing and retracing historical heritages and anthropological continuity in the artistic production of the island. Sardinia is inhabited by thousands of stone sculptures, mainly popular productions that no one seem to take into account as a form of anthropological or artistic knowledge; while these images seem to be revealing a strength and survivalness we feel fruitful and compelling, worth to be explored and make known.
This exhibition gathers works from the research started in 2018 in the wake of the La Costante Resistenziale program of the Man Museum in Nuoro and it is proposed by Piras and Sau as its critical analysis.
Una teoria del trauma is the first exhibition dedicated to the figure of Luigi Mazzarelli (1940 - 2006) to be hosted by Montecristo Project. A series of exhibitions and essays will be dedicated to Luigi Mazzarelli, a forgotten protagonist of Sardinian art of the second half of the twentieth century, and to his visual, textual and existential research.
Una storia del possibile is a short essay dedicated to the figure of Luigi Mazzarelli (1940 - 2006), Sardinian painter. This text takes into account the relations between the research of the artist and the broader context of La Costante Resistenziale by Montecristo Project, by seeking to analyze continuity and affinity in the work of avant-garde artists and popular, naif sculptors from Sardinia.
La costante resistenziale - Una storia del possibile is an exhibition which gathers the works of Luigi Mazzarelli and Efisio Pillai. This project takes into account the differences and relations between the researches of the two artists in the broader context of La Costante Resistenziale by Montecristo Project, by seeking to analyze continuity and affinity in the work of avant-garde artists and popular, naif sculptors from Sardinia.
