Deltitnu (meta-exhibitions) started in fall 2022 is an experimental series of exhibition blending visual and narrative discourses addressing the origin of the work of art and its relation to the art world. The project is composed of exhibitions whose presentation texts are dialogues between the artworks themselves unraveling a narrative starting with a mysterious murder.
This research started in 2018 in the wake of the La Costante Resistenziale program of the Man Museum in Nuoro and it is proposed by Piras and Sau as its critical analysis. According to archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu, who invented the “constance of resistance”, Sardinian people would be able to "resist" unchanged to centuries of colonization, maintaining its identity intact despite the foreign historical-cultural influences.
On the occasion of the roaming assembly of the Dutch Art Institute, at the invitation of Iliana Fokianaki, Montecristo Project presents a selection of works from the atlas of "A guide-tour of Sardinian archaic, weird and marvelous stone sculpture - La costante resistenziale".
Montecristo Project is an exhibition space and an artistic and curatorial office based in a deserted island along the Sardinian coast. As its opening exhibition of 2018 Montecristo Project is thrilled to present the first ever group show on its island, hosting the sculptural works of four different artists: Carlos Fernandez Pello, Karlos Gil, Alfredo Rodriguez and Alessandro Vizzini.
Montecristo Project is thrilled to present the first exhibition in its new space in Sardinia. Built to host Sebastien Bonin’s exhibition, this small, open, striped wooden cube is located in a secluded location up the Sardinian mountains. Inspired by the work of Ugo Ugo (1924), artist and director of the Galleria Comunale d’Arte di Cagliari, this space will host an yearly program of projects by artists-curators, starting with the founder of Island (Brussels), Sebastien Bonin.
Following Salvatore Moro’s exhibition, Montecristo Project presents a new display on the island to exhibit a series of digital prints, a six-hands work by Tonino Casula, Enrico Piras and Alessandro Sau. These photographic works were realized during Casula’s exhibition organized by Montecristo Project in 2015 into an abandoned greenhouse in the south of Sardinia
Montecristo project is an exhibition space in a deserted island along the Sardinian coasts. This space was created and designed to host the works of Salvatore Moro, to which will follow that of other artists. In the first exhibition we’ll present sculptures, objects and photographs all provenient from the house-sculpture built and decorated by Salvatore Moro during 40 years of work in his hometown: Oniferi. The display is realized through the use of planes and structures designed for the old Spanish watchtower that hosts Montecristo Project, in the shape of a white-cube.
